Hand, Upper Extremity, and Microvascular Surgery :: About Our Program

About Our Program | Conditions and Illnesses | Our Physicians | Patient Education Materials | Support Groups and Resources

The orthopaedic surgeons working in UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Hand, Upper Extremity and Microvascular Surgery Program are leaders in treating injuries and conditions affecting the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow and shoulder, including carpal tunnel syndrome.

Proper care and treatment is imperative to the long-term health of the area, as there is the potential for pain, stiffness and arthritis later in life if the injury is not addressed appropriately. Our world-class microvascular-trained surgeons routinely treat the spectrum of hand and upper extremity injuries, from common sports injuries to the most complex reconstructive surgeries.

In fact, UT Southwestern’s skilled physicians specialize in complicated wrist arthroscopy and arthroscopy-assisted wrist-fracture reduction. And UT Southwestern treats more distal radius (wrist) fractures than any other facility in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.

UT Southwestern’s comprehensive medical resources enable patients to have an initial consultation, testing, follow-up visits and any needed medical procedures all in one location.
