UT Southwestern’s Breathing (Pulmonary Neuromuscular) Disorders Program focuses on the assessment and management of individuals with respiratory insufficiency secondary to neurological and musculoskeletal disorders, including:

After evaluating their physiologic parameters of breathing, we can assist with:

  • Cough-assist devices
  • Accessory muscle training
  • Chest wall mobility and hyperinflation
  • Glossopharyngeal breathing
  • Intermittent positive-pressure breathing (IPPB)
  • Non-invasive ventilation and invasive ventilation
  • Ventilatory interfaces
